In-house Training and Facilitation
'It was really good to work with you
in Cambodia. The participants raved about the input. I think
the combination of our two organisations' approaches as well
as what we brought as individuals really worked.' -
David Curtis, Head of Programmes - Asia & Middle East,
Healthlink Worldwide
Over the past few years, ICA:UK has been steadily increasing
the amount of contract work overseas. The bulk of this work
has been with Sight
Savers International (SSI), with some signs of real impact
coming as a result of this prolonged relationship. The impact
has been in SSI, in ICA:UK (by involving us in work which
we had not previously engaged in) and in the wider ICAI network
by drawing in individuals from other ICAs to either work with
ICA:UK or to take advantage of the contact with SSI to get
contracts in their own countries.

a case study of our work with Sight Savers International
This programme is building on the experience with SSI, developing
a mission-focused service, adopting a partnership approach
to develop longer-term relationships with organisations and
institutions either based overseas or based in the UK with
an overseas focus.
This service, comprising of a variety of interventions (e.g.
facilitation, training, qualitative research, mentoring, coaching,
advice), is geared towards developing client capacity in two
main areas- participation and partnership.
The programme, as in the past, will be delivered by ICA:UK
staff, ICA:UK Associates, staff/Associates from other ICAs,
and external players such as client staff and external facilitators/consultants.
There are strong links with the UK
Training and Facilitation Programme and the Youth
Participation Programme.
