Single Community programme grants
Since April 2005, the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit’s
three community participation programmes (Community Chests,
Community Learning Chests and Community Empowerment Fund)
have been merged into the Single Community Programme.
The three funding streams were merged to help clarify the
meaning of Community Participation within Neighbourhood Renewal
and refocus the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit's community participation
programmes so that they better meet the needs of local communities.
One of the objectives of the new programme is "to support
community learning through small grants and the development
of learning strategies". For more information on grants
for participation training contact your local
Responsible Body.
